Studio FAQs

Do you have a physical studio?

Yes, our 1350 square foot retail studio offers dozens of background options in a climate controlled environment, has a dressing room for your convenience, and is located in the heart of downtown Hot Springs where your session can easily be incorporated into a fun family day outing.  We also sell fine art pieces and fine art souvenirs of the Hot Springs natural areas and downtown architecture.

Where are you located?

The studio is located at 801 Central Avenue, Suite 30 on the second floor of the historic Spencer's Corner building.  The building is on the corner of Central Avenue and Bridge Street in the heart of downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas

Do you travel?

YES!  We are happy to travel to your location.  There is no location fee for anywhere within 75 miles of the studio which covers the majority of Central Arkansas.  We are also happy to travel with you or to you in other locations and states.  Please contact us for details on this custom service.

Where do I park?

There is free two hour parking directly in front of and beside the studio on Central Avenue and Bridge Street.  There is metered parking behind the building on Malvern Avenue & Broadway Street and across Central Avenue in the city parking lot.  There is also a paid lot just south of the building beside the Malco) accessible by both Central Avenue and Broadway Street.

Is there an elevator?

Yes, the elevator is located on the bridgeway between Subway restaurant and Gary Morris Interiors.  When you exit the elevator, turn right and you will be facing the studio on the second floor.  The ramp to access the elevator is in front of Gary Morris Interiors and most easily accessible from Central Avenue or the paid parking lot south of the building.

Is there handicap parking?

There is one handicap spot beside the building on Bridge Street.  To access the elevator from this parking spot turn the corner to Central Avenue and walk south.

Is there a dressing room?

Yes, we are a full service studio and there is a dressing room for your use prior to your session.  Some session types include hair and makeup on request.

Do I have to print my own pictures?

No, we are a full service studio.  We will help you choose the custom products that best fit your needs, show them to you at the size you are considering on your own walls, and deliver and install them with most session types.  In addition, all purchased products include the full resolution digital file of the product image(s).

Will you help me hang my wall art?

Yes, all local wall art deliveries include installation.  Installation can also be arranged at most out of town locations.

Will you help with wardrobe selection?

Yes, your Style & Planning Consultation can happen in the studio or at your home.  In either location, we will discuss where you plan to display your finished artwork and how the wardrobe selection will complement your decor.  At a home consultation, we are happy to help you look through the family closets for pieces that will photograph well and look good together.  We are also happy to continue the conversation from either location by reviewing texted or emailed pictures of clothing you are considering from the closet or a shopping trip to ensure it will your goals for your portrait session.

Do I have to choose a package before I see the pictures?

No, our process is different from many other photographers.  At your Style & Planning Consultation, we will ask about your needs for your portraiture and how and where you plan to display your finished artwork.  We need this information to properly photograph your family - a black and white close up square portrait of your child's face for the playroom is created with different lighting, lens choices, and backgrounds than an outdoor fall family portrait that will hang over your living room sofa (horizontally) or above your mantel (vertically).  The consultation allows us to all get on the same page and you will leave with a full quote for all pieces discussed, however, you will have the opportunity to see the images and purchase only the pieces you love after your session.  

Do you go on location?

Yes!  We are lucky to be located 500 feet from Hot Springs National Park which has beautiful scenery, however, the rest of the city (and state!) has some amazing scenery, too.  Whether you want to remember how beautiful your vacation spot was, honor the memories you've created in your home, or just be photographed in your special place, we are happy to make that happen for you.
